Franchise details ↗How Argentine rugby is organised
Argentina’s franchise pathway runs through Súper Rugby Américas, an international professional tournament played in February–June 2026. Pampas, Dogos XV, Tarucas and the new Capibaras XV competed against teams from Uruguay, Chile, Paraguay and Brazil. It is not the Southern Hemisphere’s Super Rugby Pacific and is not the Los Pumas national schedule.
Buenos Aires has a different club system. In 2026 the URBA men’s top competition is officially the Top 14, expanded from the historical Top 12. Its semifinals are scheduled for 30–31 October and its final for 7 November. Below the Top 14 sit separate divisions Primera A, B and C, Segunda, Tercera and Desarrollo. These are regional amateur clubs, not professional franchises.
Across the country, Torneo del Interior A brought together 16 clubs in four groups in 2026; Tala RC won the final on 3 October. Torneo del Interior B was won by Natación y Gimnasia on 12 September. The Interior A champion progresses to the final of the men’s Nacional de Clubes against the URBA champion. Regional Litoral, NOA and Córdoba competitions are distinct additional club pathways.
In women’s rugby, the 2026 Nacional de Clubes Femenino included 12 senior clubs in a 12-a-side competition and eight youth teams in sevens. Universitario de Córdoba and Club Taborín were the respective winners. The URBA also organises women’s 9s, 10s and 7s. Los Pumas take part in the July–November Nations Championship; Argentina XV and sevens national teams play different international tournaments.
