How National League 2 North works
National League 2 North is one of three regional leagues at level four of the English men’s rugby union pyramid. The 14 clubs play one home and one away fixture against every other team, making 26 matches per club and 182 fixtures overall.
The published National Two competition pathway includes promotion for the champion, a play-off route for the runners-up, direct relegation for the bottom two and a survival-playoff route for 12th. Because 2026/27 regulations can differ from the previous season, RugbyOrbit labels these positions provisional until the RFU confirms the applicable rules.
Season snapshot
Sedgley Park are unbeaten after six games, leading with 30 points and a points difference of +266. Darlington Mowden Park and Hull Ionians have 26 points. Sedgley Park meet Heath next, while Tynedale host Harrogate on 17 October.
