Competition structure for 2026/27

The federation originally announced four groups of eight teams (32 clubs), but the current official competition register lists 30 clubs: eight each in Groups A, B and C, and six in Group D. That produces 198 first-phase fixtures: 14 rounds in A–C and 10 rounds in D.

The top three clubs in each of Groups A, B and C, plus the Group D winner, advance to a ten-team promotion league. After that phase, the top four contest semifinals and a final for one promotion place to División de Honor Élite.

For the remaining clubs, the federation announced relegation groups and relegation play-offs. The seventh-place teams in Groups A–C and third-place team in D are designated for the survival play-offs under the published format. Group D’s actual six-team composition differs from the eight-team format in the original announcement, so exact relegation markings there remain provisional.

Relegation-group fixtures and final-phase brackets are not yet included: these will be added once the federation publishes the teams and calendar.
